Kayak Centre was founded in 1973 by Gordon Rowe. Today Kayak Centre is owned and run by Rick Whitton and Ken Holden, whom have over 50 years of combined experience in the canoeing industry in South Africa, and put the vast experience they have as competitive canoeists back into the design and construction of your craft. Each Kayak Centre craft is hand finished by Rick or Ken to ensure it meets your specifications.

In order to stay at the leading edge of the industry, Kayak Centre draws on the experience of our sponsored athletes to continually improve our products as well as drawing on the expertise of world leaders in the composite and fiberglass industry. Since 2005 all our craft are CAD designed and tested and original shapes(plugs) cut on a CNC machine to ensure 100% accuracy.

Our motto of “Quality comes with Experience” has been hard earned and we strive to meet the modern demands of our sport, while retaining the old fashioned quality developed with pride over the years.
